Who is responsible

Contact enquiries

The contact form collects your name, email address, optional company and message so William can respond to your enquiry. Please avoid including sensitive personal information or confidential documents. Your submission is emailed to William; it is not published on the website.

A necessary session cookie protects the form against forged requests. Temporary security counters limit repeated submissions using a hashed network address. These functions do not depend on permission for optional analytics. Hosting and email providers process information needed to operate the website and deliver correspondence; hosting services may keep security and access logs.

Optional website analytics

Analytics remain off unless you choose Allow. You can choose Decline without losing access to content or the contact form. Use Analytics preferences at any time to change your choice. A recognised Global Privacy Control or Do Not Track browser signal, or the owner exclusion setting, disables these analytics.

When enabled, the existing first-party visitor system records pages viewed, referral origin and campaign labels, approximate location and network, browser and device information, language, time zone, screen dimensions and interaction measures such as engaged time, scroll depth, selected work areas and enquiry status (attempt, validation failure, submission error or server-confirmed acceptance). It uses random browser and session identifiers to connect visits. It does not collect the contents of contact fields, passwords or private dashboard activity.

Approximate country, region, city and network lookup may send your IP address to IPWHOIS at ipwho.is. Location can be inaccurate, particularly with VPNs or shared networks. The visitor system retains a masked IP address and a keyed hash for security and lookup caching. Hosting providers and the lookup service may receive the full address as part of their network operations. A visit does not reveal a person’s name or employer; automated-versus-human classifications are estimates.

Storage and retention

The browser stores an analytics choice for up to 180 days, an optional analytics visitor identifier for up to 90 days, and a session identifier renewed through meaningful visitor activity, with a new session after 30 minutes without that activity. Background timers do not extend the session. Engagement time is estimated only while the page is visible, focused and recently used. Declining analytics clears the analytics identifiers in this browser; it does not automatically erase earlier server records. The existing visitor system is configured to retain events for 90 days and location-cache entries for up to seven days, with expired data removed during normal system use.

Enquiries and email correspondence are kept while needed to respond, maintain relevant professional correspondence or meet applicable obligations, and should then be deleted. Hosting-log and email-backup retention depends on the service provider. You may ask about relevant records and request deletion, subject to lawful retention requirements.

Purposes and legal grounds

Contact information is used to respond to your request, take steps towards a potential professional discussion and maintain relevant correspondence. Necessary security processing protects this website and its communications. Where European data protection law applies, these activities may rely on steps requested before a contract or legitimate interests, as appropriate to the enquiry; optional analytics rely on consent. Where South African law applies, processing must meet the applicable conditions under POPIA. Information is not sold or used for targeted advertising.

Recipients and international processing

Information may be processed by hosting and email service providers and, with analytics permission, the location-lookup provider. Service infrastructure may operate outside your country. Any transfer subject to applicable data protection law must use an appropriate legal basis and safeguards. Contact William for information about the providers, processing locations and safeguards relevant to your enquiry.

Your choices and rights

Where applicable, you may request access, correction, deletion, restriction or portability of your personal information; object to processing based on legitimate interests; and withdraw consent for future analytics. Withdrawal does not affect the lawfulness of earlier consent-based processing. Depending on your location and whether a law applies to this website, US state privacy laws may also provide rights to know, correct or delete information, opt out of sale, sharing or certain profiling, and appeal a refused request. These rights are subject to the conditions and exceptions of the relevant law. You will not be penalised for exercising an applicable right.

Email your request to William. Verification will be proportionate to the information involved; please do not send an identity document unless a suitable verification method has been agreed. An authorised representative may submit a request where the relevant law permits. Applicable requests will be handled within the required legal timeframes. If dissatisfied, you can contact the Information Regulator in South Africa, your competent European supervisory authority or the relevant authority in your jurisdiction.

Security, children and changes

Access to the visitor dashboard is restricted. The form uses server-side validation, request tokens and submission limits. No transmission or storage system can guarantee absolute security. This professional website is not directed at children and does not intentionally request their information. The date above will change when this notice is revised.
